We invite the Community to volunteer and help run our annual Shred Event for the Camarillo Council on Aging! This is a fundraiser to benefit our senior community and helps provide needed resources and educational opportunities for our senior citizens. It takes a team to make this event operate smoothly, typically requiring 30+ volunteers!
Volunteers may assist with some of the following:
- Setting up traffic cones for driving lanes
- Providing traffic control
- Lifting boxes/bags of paper out of vehicles
- Hold signs
- Greeting event attendees
High School Students - We provide certification of volunteer hours for your school / college requirements. Get credit for helping your community!
Youth 15-17 - Please have your parent sign the waiver provided in the link and bring a copy of it with you to the event or email it prior to the event to cityclerk@cityofcamarillo.org. (This is required to participate).
Food for volunteers - We will have plenty of water, morning snacks, and lunch will be provided for all volunteers in appreciation of your help.
Photo Op - There will be a photo opportunity after the event for all volunteers that will be used in City communications.
Please note that this event can require walking and/or standing for lengths of time. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and please note there is limited shade, so sunscreen is highly recommended.
We are thankful for your help and hope this is a fun
day! On behalf of the City of Camarillo and the Camarillo Council on
Aging, thank you in advance for your participation and helping our wonderful
community.
