Camarillo Library Volunteers are involved in many aspects of the Library with jobs that benefit people throughout the year and all through the community! Camarillo Library volunteers may be any age, from 14 to adult.
Description
Literacy tutors help adults improve their reading, writing, and speaking skills through one-on-one tutoring sessions to tutor them in reading and writing. Prior to being matched with a learner, volunteers are encouraged to take advantage of free training.
Requirements
- Must commit to a minimum of six months of volunteering
- Must be able to meet weekly for 1 ½ hours
- Must be able to work with a diverse group of people
- All prospective volunteers must undergo a background check.
Specialized Skills/Training
No experience is necessary, but volunteers are urged to take advantage of free online training and resources.
